On October 10th, I attended the CBIA Business Energy Conference in Cromwell, CT. Sponsored by Energize CT, HQUS, UIL Holdings and Pullman and Comley, LLC, it brought together energy professionals for a full day of keynote addresses, panel discussions and an EXPO trade show floor.
A few highlights, from my perspective:
– Money, money, money! – There are a seemingly endless portfolio of options to fund energy efficiency projects, renewable energy projects and equipment replacement and upgrades. From C-PACE to utility programs to ESCO’s, there is plenty of money to help finance and pay for your energy upgrades.
Industrial is underserved – Most of the focus is on Commercial and Residential Energy Efficiency programs. Industrial needs attention!
I enjoyed the keynote address by Brad Kane, Managing Editor of the Hartford Business Journal. He gave his guidelines for “notable press”;
Proximity, Timeliness, Impact, Prominence, Bizarreness, Conflict. A story that meets this criteria will be published. Interesting and helpful.
I enjoyed the conference and meeting a lot of interesting people….
