Things Are Just Beachy Around Here!

It may have been pouring rain outside, but it was a great day at the beach inside the Connecticut Convention Center on Thursday. Our Marketing Team spent the day learning about new technologies and trends in business within the state of Connecticut at the Connecticut Business Expo. Unfortunately, the beach photo was not accompanied by drinks with little umbrellas! Contact Us

Engineers and Golf Balls: A Dangerous Mix

FORE! At a recent golf tournament held by a valued partner of ETTER Engineering, one of our Project Engineers got a little too radical with his three wood, resulting in a less-than-ideal trajectory on his shot. Fortunately for his playing partner who should have been sitting in the golf cart, the in-cart GPS unit bore the brunt of our man’s errant drive. The result? Simply smashing! All of us here at ETTER Engineering would like to extend our sincere condolences to the friends and family of this GPS unit. Contact Us

Furnace #1 Has Left the Building!

Followers of the ETTER Blog will remember the Aluminum Forge Furnaces we’ve been building. Furnace #1 was completed earlier this week, at which point riggers were called in to expertly (and deftly) pluck the 10,000 pound furnace out of the shop and load it on a flatbed for transport to its final destination. Work on Furnace #2 continues. Look for more photos as it nears completion! These furnaces are prime examples of ETTER’s Solutions Division, which draws on the collective knowledge acquired over the course of our nearly 75-year existence to solve the toughest problems for our customers. Where in the world is….ETTER?

Theresa Brownell, our Office Manager, and Kristen Sampson, our Administrative Assistant, were in Newport, Rhode Island over the weekend.  Knowing that an ETTER natural gas booster was installed in the Midtown Oyster Bar, they went on a field trip to find the booster.  Mission Accomplished!  They found the booster and snapped a picture with Theresa’s adorable children.   Our team will go to great lengths to see our products in action.  Thanks to Theresa and Kristen for sharing the pictures of ETTER at work!   Contact Us

One of the Best E-Mails Ever…

We are creating a summer cookbook for our clients.  Considering we are a company with a deep heritage in the gas industry, we have lots of backyard grilling experience.  Our Marketing Director, Chris Del Sole, has been prodding, cajoling and otherwise annoying our team to give him recipes.  Here is his “Weekly Recipe Guilt Trip”  Just awesome! Gentlemen (and I use that term loosely at best), This is your weekly guilt trip. Twelve people have submitted twenty four recipes so far. If you’ve received this e-mail, it’s because you still haven’t given me a recipe for the ETTER cookbook. This cookbook will be sent to our top clients – I like to think of them as the people that pay our salaries. A kick-ass cookbook…

Raising (and Lowering) the Roof on an Aluminum Forge Furnace

ETTER Engineering does a lot of different things, which means a walk through the shop is always an interesting experience. On a recent walk, I spotted a few of our guys raising, and then lowering into place the roof on a massive aluminum forge furnace, one of two that ETTER is building for a customer. The furnace measures approximately twenty feet long by eight feet high, and is designed to reach an operating temperature of 1,000° – careful, or that pizza might get burned! Just kidding… Stay tuned as the furnace production continues. With major fabrication completed, it’s now time to begin mounting controls, gas trains, and other details. ETTER Engineering has been producing Custom Manufactured Solutions since 1940. If you have a combustion or…

ETTER Engineering’s Bowling Challenge

Work hard, play hard. That’s our motto around here. Well…that, and Everybody Wang Chung Tonight. But I digress. The 2nd Annual ETTER Engineering Bowling Challenge took place on Friday, March 7th, with five teams of five ETTER employees pitted against each other in a grudge match. Or maybe it was all for fun and team-building. Either way, balls were rolled, pins were knocked down, and a good time was had by all! Congratulations to the winning team – The Bowling Stones. They’ll look to defend their title by holding monthly Wii Bowling practices in the run-up to the 2015 Bowling Challenge. Contact Us

Helping Those In Need – Even Animals

At ETTER Engineering, we pride ourselves on helping those around us in times of need. That compassion extends to the animals we coexist with as well. When an injured goose found its way to our property, our Administrative Assistant Kristen promptly contacted a local veterinarian. Upon being advised to “bring it in, we’ll take care of the rest” – out went a few of the guys to wrangle the bird (something that was surprisingly difficult, even despite the goose’s injured leg!). We’re happy to report the goose has been safely delivered to the vet’s office, where it will receive top-notch treatment before being released back into the wild. Contact Us
