Eclipse has successfully installed Tin Bath Auxiliary Heating Systems, called the “Float Fire”, in several glass plants. Currently, several prominent Eclipse glass customers are operating the Float Fire Auxiliary Heating System in their Tin Baths with excellent results.
The purpose of the Float Fire Auxiliary Heating System is threefold. First, as the Tin Bath ages, problems can frequently arise with the failure of electric heating elements and/or electrode control systems. Second, additional heat is often needed after the coating process. Third, there is a need for improved edge heating capabilities due to changes in job specifications or edge thickness. In all of these cases, the application of the Float Fire Auxiliary Heating System has solved these operating issues and improved the control of the heating process.
