The 2014 ETTER Mini-Golf Challenge

The storied links of Hidden Valley, which sit just a Bubba Watson 3-wood from ESPN’s Bristol Campus, were host to the 2014 ETTER Mini-Golf Challenge on Friday. While we invited The Worldwide Leader to cover the event, they politely declined, citing “football.” Despite the lack of media, the show went on, and in the end it was the fearsome foursome of Tom, Chris, Pat and Tiger that brought home the win, coming in with a combined score of 139. The second place group, who asked to remain anonymous, were a distant 7 strokes behind the Champions. Blogmaster Chris also took home honors for most hole-in-ones. When asked what allowed him to drop 7 aces, he replied, “A laser focus, gritty determination, and my Odyssey White…

ETTER Mini-Golf Challenge

We hold a company meeting each quarter, updating our team on our financial and operational results for the previous quarter and year to date.  It engages our team in the achievement of our company goals and objectives and ensures that we are all on the same page.  At the same time, we hold a quarterly team event.  This quarter it is the ETTER Mini-Golf Challenge.  We have 7 teams of 4 golfers that will compete for trophies and bragging rights. Here is the hardware we will be playing for on Friday, September 5th. Stay tuned for the results after the competition Contact Us

ETTER Helps Out Make-A-Wish

ETTER Engineering’s Service Department puts some serious miles on our vehicles. After years of pounding the pavement, our trusty purple Dodge Caravan had seen better days. Rather than simply junk it, we decided to donate it to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in the hopes they will benefit from its eventual sale at auction. While we’re all sad to see the “Eggplant On Wheels” go, it’s nice knowing its demise will benefit a great cause! Contact Us

Employee Spotlight: Paul Lavoie

This month, we’re showcasing a newer member of the ETTER team, Paul Lavoie. In his Executive role as ETTER’s Vice President of Business Development, Paul oversees the Sales and Marketing efforts of the company. When not crunching numbers or thinking creatively in the ETTER office, Paul serves as the Vice Chairman of the Trumbull Board of Finance, as well as the Trumbull Republican Town Committee Chairman. He has been in the same Fantasy Baseball league since 1992 – back when it was called Rotisseries Baseball, and all the stats were mailed or faxed to the owners! He and his wife Cindy live…

Things Are Just Beachy Around Here!

It may have been pouring rain outside, but it was a great day at the beach inside the Connecticut Convention Center on Thursday. Our Marketing Team spent the day learning about new technologies and trends in business within the state of Connecticut at the Connecticut Business Expo. Unfortunately, the beach photo was not accompanied by drinks with little umbrellas! Contact Us

Make it bETTER

We have an initiative called Make it bETTER – it is our drive to continually improve our operations and to work together to, well, make things better! Brenda, our Purchasing Agent,  brought to me a work tool that Jeremy, one of our Electrical and Mechanical Shop team members,  created for James, our Shipping and Receiving Clerk.  The idea is to make it easier and better for James to receive the different sizes of pipe in a more efficient manner.   Picture is below.   Brenda says that this will save James a lot of time in trying to figure out the size of pipe.  Jeremy created this tool for James to Make it bETTER.  Well done Jeremy! Engineers and Golf Balls: A Dangerous Mix

FORE! At a recent golf tournament held by a valued partner of ETTER Engineering, one of our Project Engineers got a little too radical with his three wood, resulting in a less-than-ideal trajectory on his shot. Fortunately for his playing partner who should have been sitting in the golf cart, the in-cart GPS unit bore the brunt of our man’s errant drive. The result? Simply smashing! All of us here at ETTER Engineering would like to extend our sincere condolences to the friends and family of this GPS unit. Contact Us
