ETTER Gives Thanks

Source.     Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on our familial values, morals and life decisions. We as humans become humbled by remembering what makes us grateful. Personally, I, (Alyssa, Sales & Marketing Assistant) am thankful that I have an amazing family, specifically my 9 month-old baby nephew, and a special connection to my brother David, who attends medical school in Tel Aviv. I am also thankful for my fantastic, supportive friends, and a special shout-out to my Best Friend of nine years, Ashley, who moved to Napa Valley, California. Many people at ETTER Engineering have taken the time to respond to the one question that grounds us in the human experience; what are we thankful for?   Chris, Marketing Director: I am thankful for…

Friday the 13th Bad Luck Prevention!

Today is Friday the 13th, and one of our common superstitions is that this is a day of bad luck.  Here is another common superstition; Failing to complete NFPA-86 Combustion Safety Audits on your Furnaces and Ovens will bring you 7 years of bad luck. Ok, it’s not really a superstition, however, failing to complete a safety audit will lead to shorter equipment life, poor energy efficiency and potential safety issues.  And that’s bad luck! Call Frank Decker at 860.584.8842 to discuss how an ETTER NFPA-86 Combustion Safety Audit is the smartest thing to do on Friday the 13th!   Meow! Contact Us

ETTER Illuminates The Art World

Jean Tinguely’s Sculptures at Gladstone Gallery.   ETTER Engineering has dived into The Art World. We recently wrote a program that helps to turn on lights fixed to sculptures made of found objects, or Metamechanics, by Jean Tinguely, (1925-1991). This exhibition is located at Gladstone Gallery in New York City. These sculptures can be art historically linked to the great artists: Marcel Duchamp (1887-1968), Pablo Picasso (1881-1973), and Dan Flavin (1933-1996). Duchamp is accredited with Dadaism; the use of found objects in a gallery setting to prompt ideas about how an object, simultaneously containing a form and a function, is representative of Fine Art. Duchamp’s Fountain, 1917, is a urinal with “R. Mutt” written on the side. This piece is described as a readymade; a piece that is already…
